How is the Holy Eucharist dangerous for the soul of the unprepared?
Question:
Is it really a sin to receive the Eucharist in mortal sin?
Answer:
No, it isn’t simply a mortal sin but a form of sacrilege; it is worse than a mortal sin to receive Jesus in mortal sin. The once life-giving body and blood of Christ become judgment to the soul. It is important to realize that we mustn’t rise with everyone every time they’re going to receive the Eucharist.
We have to carefully examine ourselves. Thankfully, a sound conscience doesn’t need much examination to realize whether or not they’re in the state of grace. Here’s what the Church says about receiving without preparation:
To respond to this invitation we must prepare ourselves for so great and so holy a moment. St. Paul urges us to examine our conscience: “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord.
Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself.” Anyone conscious of a grave sin must receive the sacrament of reconciliation before coming to Communion.
I hope you are not making your own opinion about something that is so important and powerful for us Catholics and faithfuls. It says UNWORTHY MANNER. It means you are using it for other rituals like the satanists or occultists.
Before you take the HOLY EUCHARIST we are required to say this – LORD IM NOT WORTHY TO RECEIVE YOU BUT ONLY SAY THE WORD AND I SHALL BE HEALED.
LASTLY, The Holy Eucahrist is very important especially for the soul’s protection against evil spirits or demons.
And also priests are not always available to give the sacrament of repentance. So please do some research before you post something that might cost your soul additonal punishment in purgatory because some people might refrain from receiving Holy Communion just because of this article. We need a legit explanation from the fathers of the Catholic Church and not from someone’s personal opinion.
Thank you for clarifying! Means a lot.
I agree, according to surveys the majority of Catholics don’t believe in the Real Presence, think birth control is not a moral issue and agree with gay marriage. Communion line is always a mile long, Confession line is always empty. Either we are producing a lot of saints or a lot of sinners. My guess, sinners.
When i came back to God again i used the 10 commandments and The Capital sins as my guide for my repentance.I sin everyday and i confess to GOD directly especially about lying and being lazy.i always commit those sins but any opportune time i confess them to the Catholic priests and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Sacrament of Communion. With my great Faith,Trust,Hope and Love of GOD i am confident that he will forgive me everytime i sin because i always remember Jesus everyday who died in order that i will fully reconcile with God.I could only speak for myself.
