Blessing Blocker 3: Your Words
In Deuteronomy 30:19 God did something amazing for us: ” I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life….”
God set before us blessings and the cursing, He said we get to pick what type of life we want to live. So how do we choose the blessing and life?
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” That means we get to choose life, by choosing our words.
Proverbs 18:20 AMP reveals this truth: “A man’s [moral][/moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good=”” or=”” evil=””][/whether]”
Whoa.
There is a consequence to my words.
Whether good or evil. My choice.
Think about it, do you go around speaking death and cursing over your finances?
“Honey, I just don’t know what it is, it just seems we can never get ahead…”
“Every month something else on the house breaks down and got to replace it.”
“I’ll probably get passed over for this promotion too, seems like everytime there’s an opening someone less qualified gets it.”
“Now come on baby, you know we can’t afford that! Daddy’s boss cut his hours at work.”
Stop speaking like that. Flip your vocabulary towards life and blessing.
There will be a consequence to your words. Let’s make sure it’s a good consequence.
When it comes to your money, find out what God said about your situation, and then say those things.
